The VHF radio in my boat is in the cabin and you can't hear it well. I used this as the external speaker so I could hear it while out on the water. It works well for that purpose.If you tried to be cheap and get these instead of a quality set of speakers you will be disappointed. These don't punch above their weight class and I would not be using these in any quality sound setup. That said if you just need something to make some noise that sound halfway decent and are marine grade, these do the job great. The performance of these aligns exactly with my expectations for the price.These speakers sound decent for water resistant speakers, and we're easy to install.Speakers are really well made! Pyle replaced the set and shipped the new one's to me free of charge.Bought these a few years ago (4 actually !) And recently dug them out of the garage, made a sealed box out of marine plywood, fitted them in and connected up a cheap amp (also purchased from Amazon) only cost me about £20 ! Bought a reasonable quality 3.5mm audio - phono lead. Plugged in a tablet found some music and to be honest was blown away with the sound quality. I have now put this in my hot tub area and it makes a great little party system. But please bare in mind, if you do have amp near a water source, make sure to properly insulate it from any water. As most people know water and electricity do not mix. Always consult a qualified professional .They look reasonably good quality if slightly bright white, the sound is fine and better once screwed in to a cavity. Can’t really fault for the price and I’m pleased with them. Time will tell how UV resistant they arei use these speakers on my fishing boat. the sound quality was good and the build looks ok but one of them failed within the first 6 weeks. I have not spoke to the supplier about a replacement yet.Fast delivery of 1 day, look good quality and contemporary, not fitted yet but all good so far.Amazing speaker for the price.
