Arnsermet was a great ballet conductor and he made made many outstanding recordings for London/Decca FFRR in the 1940's, 50's and 60's. They were remarkable sounding recordings for their time and still sound wonderful today.His Suisse Romande Orchestra was frequently criticized for it's many perceived shortcomings, but my current state of hearing cannot hear all the discrepancies. They sound fine to me.Vitally live performance of some great music beautifully recorded.I paid about $7.00 for the used recording in perfect condition. Interestingly, I can buy used Cd's that sound better than my old records bought when I was a teenager in the 1950's and 60's for less than the LP's...much more so when you consider the effect of inflation in the last 50 years.
