Thank you Decca for this fantastic release! As this remains one of the most famous vocal recitals ever recorded, there is no need to dwell on content and performance (all excellent). Decca maintains the original artwork -- in the hardback book you will find pictures of the various prima donnas Sutherland pays homage to (Melba, Sembrich, Galli-Curci, et al.), texts and translations. The glorious remastered sound is new as well as a 70 minute interview disc with Dame Joan and Jon Tolansky. The interview itself is revealing -- Dame Joan is totally at ease and it provides a glimpse into her psyche, her interpretations and best of all her views on the future of opera.If you love Dame Joan (as I do), you really deserve to treat yourself to these discs. The whole production is delightful and again, the interview is worth the price of the discs.Dame Joan is part of a breed of singers that is sadly dying out. La Stupenda requiescat in pace!
