My old pair of Optimus Pro LX5 II speakers had been increasingly making a rattling noise for about a year, with the left one being a lot worse. It finally got to the point that any sound caused it to rattle. After doing some research I learned that the foam surrounds had probably gone bad so I checked and sure enough there was cracks showing up in the left one. I barely touched it and a large chunk broke off. After watching several YouTube videos on people replacing the surrounds I decided to try to repair the speakers myself. But first I wanted to try to remove the speakers from their housing to make sure that I didn't break anything before ordering new surrounds. I was having difficulty removing the prongs that attach the speaker wires to the speaker frame so I sent a question to the seller who quickly responded on how to remove them. After completely removing the speaker from the housing I ordered the new surrounds and they arrived two days later, much quicker than the estimated delivery. It only took a few hours to put the new surrounds on and now my speakers not only work without any rattling it actually improved their bass response. Not that these small speakers had that much bass to begin with but the improvement is definitely noticeable. The material these surrounds are made from feels to be superior to the old ones which were quite spongey. These surrounds are definitely worth a five star rating.I've noticed some people in their reviews have said the surrounds are too big for their speakers. They just barely fit the cones of my speakers so I guess I got lucky. If anyone else runs into the problem of them being too big there is a workaround listed in the instructions on how to make them fit.
