I purchased my JBL LC130 cabinets new in 1984ish. They were still made in California back then, imagine that!These speakers always rocked, however, after 35+ years, and a move to humid & warm St. Croix, the flexible outer rings on the 12” speakers completely disintegrated. I searched for replacements, but JBL doesn’t make anything comparable today, certainly not in the USA.Found this replacement kit and decided to give it a go. Sound quality has returned, however the new flexible rings were a bit wider than the old ones, so the original plastic rings that went over the speakers no longer fit. The original black material screens are still in great shape and cover all the speakers anyway. Best part, the original speakers designed for this cabinet are pumping out “classic” 80s tunes once again.
