Fixed one of my old Sony 8" (SSU-4030) speakers (and have the foam to fix the other when it goes). Now it sounds great again, and for a decent price.Watch the install video!! Of course they are professionals and make it look super easy (that's what professionals do). There were a few differences with the video and my speakers: My old foam was glued to the back of the cone, not the front. Made cleaning it off a bit tricky (and maybe I didn't need to clean it off since the new foam goes on the front, but I did any way). The replacement foam looked like it might be small (doesn't go to the edge of the basket, but neither did the old foam) but ended up working. Cleaning the old gasket/ basket adhesive sucked. It was still very sticky and rubbery.One tip, don't use too much glue. The thin layer that attaches to the cone was great. Set pretty fast and held strong. The second outer "bead" was a bit tricky to get under the foam, and I must have got a little generous with the glue. The foam started to "wrinkle" a bit and wasn't setting. I got a bit worried (even panicked a little) so I decided to do the gasket bead, popped to gasket on to help hold the foam, and put a flat plate and 20lbs (overkill) on top to hold it all down. Left it to cure overnight, and it looks new.
